About Mikey....
Michelle "Mikey" Arana was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1997. She received her nickname of "Mikey" while attending Mountain Pointe High School in Ahwatukee, Arizona because she loved to play sports. While in high school, her peers would often write letters to her asking for advice on life's issues. And so "Ask Mikey" began.
Mikey is a 2003 graduate of Mountain Pointe High School where she lettered in Community Service. She later received her Associate's degree in Psychology as well as her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and is currently working on her Master's degree in English. She has been published in newspapers and magazines since the beginning of 2008 but has been writing stories and poems ever since she was 12 years old. She is also currently working on her first novel.
Some publications that she has been featured in include the Ahwatukee Foothills Newspaper, East Valley Tribune, West Valley Magazine and on Examiner.com to name a few. She writes about a wide range of life's issues and topics anywhere from motherless daughters, teen issues, and those that experience homelessness, to health and wellness, movie reviews, and even local and national businesses and events such as radio shows, bands, the IMS Marathon and Celebrity Fight Night.
She is here to help the community, so feel free to contact her about anything you would like some advice on.
